Movies are made up of a series of individual images called frames. When these images are shown rapidly in succession, a viewer has the illusion that motion is occurring. The viewer cannot see the flickering between frames due to an effect known as persistence of vision, whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed. Viewers perceive motion due to a psychological effect called beta movement.

Along with credit cards, automobile debt is an area that gets a lot of people into financial trouble.

Most people never figure out that one of the most money-making parts of the car dealership organization is in the financing from the motor vehicles they sell. Incredibly, sometimes the dealership can even make more from the financing than from the sale from the vehicle itself!

And want to guess who pays for all this extra income for the dealership?

You do! And you spend considerably more for this financing than you would from many other sorts of credit. You are probably paying interest on not only the purchase of the vehicle but also the insurance, the warranty and just about any other additional items that the dealer talked you into buying at the point of sale. This makes for a very expensive automobile and they know it many people find themselves having difficulty just making the monthly payments.

If this applies to you, you may be asking yourself what the best way is to get out of this fix.

You need to think about what alternatives you have to reduce your automotive debt. Unfortunately the biggest thing you can do to reduce those payments is to sell the car! You may have to drive something a little more realistic considering the situation you’re in, both in the cost of the car and the cost of the upkeep and insurance.

Cars are very typically an emotional purchase, where the impression that your new automobile may have on friends, family and neighbors may influence your decision into purchasing a more costly vehicle by borrowing more. But if you are having trouble making the payment, you are just kidding yourself. Why are you trying to project an image that is false? You need to come back to reality before you get buried any deeper.

Sadly, many people are “upside down” in their cars. This means that they owe more on the car than it is worth. Some people have even gone back to the dealership and traded in an upside down car on another one, and now they are not only paying for the new car, but the balance owing on the old car!

Dealerships thrive on foolish behavior like this. They will do everything they can to make you feel important and pump up your emotions about purchasing a car. Their number one objective is to get you to test drive the car, so you’ll be hooked before you know it!

You need to realize that this is not only costing you the car payment each month, but it is costing you the ability to invest in your future. Perhaps you could earn more if you went for additional schooling, but you can’t afford it because of the car payment. Maybe you stumble upon an opportunity to buy a house at a great price, but you can’t afford to because of the car payment.

If you look at the background of people who quietly get rich over the years they have one thing in common. They drive older cars! They have resisted the urge to invest any more of their money than they absolutely have to in cars or anything else that loses value over time. Instead, they invest their money into buying a house, stocks or other investments that tend to increase in value over time.

There is one positive note here, though. The cars being made today are way better than they were say 30 years ago. If you get rid of your expensive car, you can find a really reliable, economical car that still looks pretty nice for not a lot of money. You may find that, especially if you can get into a used car for cash an have no monthly payment, the money you are saving will make you feel better than having that new car!

A serious problem on our roads today is aggressive driving. Drivers who get behind the wheel and are either in a rush, irritable, or impatient are more likely to be a menace on the road. Drivers in this mindset will follow too closely, will change lanes without notice and drive beyond the speed limit. For aggressive drivers, the car horn is not used as a means to communicate, but rather as a weapon.

The number of drivers on the road is always increasing. The fact that new roadways are being built at a rate slower than the increase in new drivers, it can be concluded that the number of aggressive drivers on the road is also increasing. It is hard to gauge the number of fatal accidents cause by these reckless drivers. It is certain though, that defensive drivers cause far fewer accidents than careless drivers.

Aggressive Drivers – A Profile

This type of driver can easily be recognized as someone who expresses frustration where there is probably no need to be frustrated. The most common example is a driver who will follow too closely even though you may be following the speed limit. Their concern for your welfare is limited.

Speeding seems to be a hobby for this type of driver. They will often ignore poor road conditions and traffic signs in general. It would be considered a thrill to disobey traffic laws.

Driving is something that requires attention; it takes more brain power than walking and chewing gum at the same time. This is another characteristic of an aggressive driver, their lack of focus on the task at hand. They are capable of performing other tasks while driving, such as texting from a cell phone, fiddling with their ipod or putting on makeup!

As hard as it is for these drivers to focus on driving, it is just as easy for them to become distracted. If there is an accident a reckless driver will likely stop in the middle of a high traffic area, in order to get a closer look. If you see nothing wrong with this type of behavior, visit a driving school near you so they can help you correct your behavior.
And finally, the most difficult facet of road safety for an aggressive driver to understand are basic traffic lights.

For a normal driver, traffic lights register in the brain as follows;

Red means ’stop’.

Green means ‘go’.

Yellow means ‘proceed with caution’.

And for the abnormal driver;

Red means ‘I am going to be late!!!’

Green means ‘Put the pedal to the floor!’

Yellow means ‘Put the pedal to the floor!’

In all seriousness, driving is a privilege that responsible drivers want to protect. Do your part and be safe on the road.

How many of you have ever tried shopping for new car with your spouse? Not too complicated, you have an idea of what you want, you go to a dealership or if your like us, a used car lot. If you have done your homework, you will have a list of must haves, and list of wants and a list of could totally do with out BUT would like to have, for example a sun roof maybe or a moon roof? Now, try going car shopping with your spouse who is also a mechanic. Now your options have completely been changed. In short, here is an idea of things to keep in mind when you are doing said car shopping.

First of all, do NOT panic! It is not the end of the world when the spouse tells you that a certain car or truck that you find perfectly acceptable is now on the absolutely NOT list. Chances are, your spouse, after spending 10 hours a day, turning wrenches, working on vehicles, has a pretty good idea of what is ok and what vehicles they see a lot of or in other words, stay the H-E double hockey sticks away from. Ask them instead, what kind of vehicles do they not see a lot of? What is easier to work on? Are parts easily accessible? Reasonably priced?

In other words, is this going to cost you a lot to repair when something goes wrong? Those are the things that your spouse is thinking of when they are car or truck shopping and to make the experience easier on you, prepare yourself that the vehicle you may want is not necessarily the vehicle you end up with. That does not mean that you wont get one Better than what you intended. Just be sure you have asked your questions first, you have prepared yourself for the “look” when you suggest a forbidden vehicle and know that in the end, the one you drive away in will make you both very happy.

Are you know someone who seems to always be getting caught doing the wrong things at the wrong time when you are driving? You may have thought about investing in speed camera detectors to help you to avoid the chances of getting a ticket when you speed through a red light. These red light cameras are crucial and will give you a ticket if you cross the line.01 seconds after it has turned red. There are also cameras that clock how fast you are going when you go pass them and they will give you a ticket for speeding. If you want to be on alert when you are fixing to come up on a speed camera then you will need a detector for your vehicle.

One good thing about speed a camera detector is that they let you get back to the old days when all you had to do was watch out for the cop that was sitting on the side of the road with the radar gun. Life was so much simpler back in those days, but now you have to worry about watching for the police, the camera, and satellites in outer space just to avoid getting a speeding ticket. It is crazy all of the hoops you have to jump through just to get to where you are going a little bit faster than everyone else. With a detector in your car you will have one of the important areas covered and will only have to worry about keeping a watch for the police cruiser with a radar gun hanging out the window.

Another great thing about a speed camera detector is that you can purchase one for less than the price that one speeding ticket will cost you. Speeding tickets cost a lot of money and the points that you get on your license for getting one do not come off of your record for a while. Those points can also make your insurance rates rise and cost you even more money. Bottom line, it is well worth it to invest your money in a camera detector because it will save you a lot of money over the long run.

There are a few different places that you can purchase one of these detectors from at reasonable rates. You will want to shop around and compare the prices at a few different places before you make your decision on where you want to buy one from. You most likely will have trouble locating one at your local department store, but the internet is a valuable source that will help you to find what you are looking for. You will be able to find and compare different brand names, different models, and different prices of speed camera detectors to find the one that is perfect for your car. If you are someone who zips around town everywhere you go then you might as well invest in one of these speed camera detectors before you end up spending a lot of money on tickets and insurance rates.

Come and evaluate your driving habits to find out if you need Speed Camera Detectors

Motoring Offences Don’t Always Mean Heavy Penalties By Jamie R Lyons

[...]

There are numerous laws and regulations governing all aspects of motoring, and due to the multitudinous dangers associated with driving, they are rigorously enforced. Penalties for contravening certain motoring laws are severe and can even result in a prison sentence in some cases. There are, however, ways and means of circumnavigating the law to avoid the full penalty for committing offences. Three examples are outlined below:

Use of a Mobile Phone While Driving

Since December 2003 it has been a criminal offence to use a mobile phone whilst driving unless operated via a hands-free device. As this law has been in place for more than six years it is now almost universally acknowledged and accepted. That does not however stop this law from being regularly contravened. Although the law stipulates that it is an offence to make or receive a telecommunication whilst using a hand held telephone whilst driving, there are somewhat grey areas with regard to the legality of using a mobile phone in a manner other than to communicate whilst driving: as exemplified in the Jimmy Carr case (where his phone was legally used whilst driving as a dictation device!) There can often be uncertainty as to what amounts to a ‘telecommunication’ or when a phone is actually ‘hand held’. Similarly other exceptions to the law exist in situations deemed ‘emergencies’. Unless the driver admits the offence, it is often difficult for the police to prove that the motorist was holding a phone, as opposed to an iPod, a Bluetooth earpiece or, in one recent case, a black pudding!

Speeding

Speed cameras are the bane of many a motorist’s life. Their unscrupulous and unforgiving capture of those travelling mere single digit increments above the stipulated speed limit is responsible for the issue of multiple millions of pounds worth of fines every year. Speed cameras are proven to reduce the incidence of accidents in many circumstances and similarly help to generally prevent motorists from exceeding speed limits. Conversely, the process undertaken from the flash of the camera through to the issuing of a penalty notice is quite convoluted and on a number of occasions standard protocol is deviated from, thus rendering the charge invalid if contested. There are around 50 different types of speed camera, including radar and laser devices, and all have detailed rules regulating how they should be operated. A breach of these rules by the police can invalidate the speed reading.

Drink Driving

Preventing drink driving has been a priority for the powers that be for many years. The diminished reactions and concentration synonymous with inebriation have been responsible for countless accidents, casualties and deaths. As a consequence of the severity of the offence, the law is very strict on those found guilty and a driving ban is a highly probable conclusion to being found guilty. As with the case of motorists charged with speed camera offences, the procedure involved for charging a motorist with drink driving offences is fraught with red tape. From inconsistencies on the part of the charging officer, through to lack of lucidity in results or the provision of evidence, an initial charge of alcohol related motoring offences does not necessarily lead to a conviction.

If, however, you are unfortunate enough as to find yourself facing a penalty notice or summons, there are specialist motoring offence solicitors available to help minimise the impact on your life. They will try to find loopholes, irregularities and breaches in the evidence in order to have the case dismissed.

The privilege of driving comes with the responsibility of sharing the road with other drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists, and less often, horseback riders. With proper care and caution, there are ways to be aware of and realize the presence of all road users. Follow the tips below to ensure safety for all.

Pedestrians

Pedestrians have rules to follow on the road as well. Use your horn to communicate with pedestrians who are not following their own rules; especially when they are crossing.

Pedestrians are the most susceptible to harm on the road.

Drive more slowly in areas where pedestrians are more numerous such as playgrounds, schools, parks and residential areas.

Reverse with caution by using your mirrors.

Bicyclists

When cycling on the road, make sure that you are in a designated bicycle lane.

Cyclists must wear a safety helmet at all times.

Keep both hands on the handlebars unless you are signaling to turn.

Only ride on sidewalks where you are permitted to do so.

Any accident involving a cyclist must be reported to local law enforcement.

Motorcyclists

Should always drive with their headlight on to increase their visibility on the road.

Always wear proper safety gear while driving. (i.e. helmet, gloves, jacket, pants, etc)

Speed and distance are hard to judge when observing a motorcycle from a car.

Motorcyclists have the same rights on the road as a car, they have full use of every lane.

Most accidents occur when a car is changing lanes. When driving in warm climates, always be aware of possible motorcyclists on the road.

Horseback Riders

With the exception of major highways and expressways, horseback riders have the right to use public roadways. Horseback riders are required to drive as far to the right of the road as possible. If you are following a horse, please proceed with caution. Please try to avoid honking your horn at the horse. A startled horse can wreak havoc and potentially cause an accident.

Transport Vehicles

Tend to have less control in worsened road conditions. Pass with caution in suspect road conditions.

Have limited visibility especially for vehicles that are pursuing. Keep a safe distance to ensure that you can be seen by the transport truck driver.

If you are being followed by a transport truck, ensure that you communicate your intentions to turn or stop with plenty of warning. Larger vehicles take a greater distance to stop.

If you are stopped on a hill behind a transport vehicle, maintain a space of at least 1 – 2 vehicles in case the vehicle rolls backwards when it tries to move again.

We have all witnessed reckless drivers speeding past us faster than a bullet, weaving in and out of traffic, running red lights, and blatantly ignoring traffic laws. Unfortunately, these drivers are not just aggravating, they are a safety hazard. Reckless driving is responsible for almost 33% of all car accidents in America.

Statistics

With over 6 million car accidents and 40,000 car related fatalities per year, you would think that American drivers would be more conscientious about their driving habits. The most frustrating part of these statistics is discovering that a substantial number of accidents, injuries, and deaths could have been avoided had the drivers been paying full attention to their driving. According to reports,

o Approximately 25% of all drivers reported having been in an accident in the last 5 years
o	More than 3 million people are injured in car accidents each year, and over 2 million of these injuries are permanent
o	In more than half of all car related fatalities, the occupants were not wearing their seatbelt
o	25% of car wrecks occurred while a driver was talking on the phone
o	For people between the ages of 1 and 30 years old, car accidents are the leading cause of death

Examples of Reckless Driving

Not all drivers who fail to abide by traffic and safety laws are reckless. A negligent is someone who knowingly violates traffic laws; however, a negligent driver does not become reckless unless he or she puts someone in serious danger or causes injury or bodily harm to another party. Examples of reckless driving include:

o	Driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
o	Racing
o	Running red lights, stop signs, or accelerating through yellow lights/warning signs
o	Ignoring or disregarding rail road crossing signals
o	Tailgating
o	“Tapping” or nudging another vehicle while moving
o	Weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds
o	Excessive speeding
o	Any dangerous violation of traffic laws

Prevention

Sadly, young males between the ages of 16 and 25 are the most prone to reckless driving behavior. In order to deter your child from becoming a reckless driver, speak to him/her about the risks of violating traffic laws. Additionally, if you suspect your child is not ready for the responsibility of driving, consider prolonging his or her driving privileges.

Here are some good car dealership qualities you should look for before visiting one.

1. Solid commitment to their customers and offer a wide selection of vehicles

2. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. People need people to treat them with respect. They also need someone to be willing to take their time with them.

3. Good financing options even with not perfect credit with an option to apply online.

4. Top notch Parts and Service Department and Collison Center with convenient hours to serve their customers. Many people work busy schedules.

5. A Collison Center that will take on any size job — large or small. Learn if they do unibody and frame repairs, glass replacement, paintless dent repairs, fiberglass repairs and mechanical repairs. Do they offer pre-owned cars as well as new cars?

6. Guarantee their work and meet factory specifications and proper alignment. They must guarantee their work.

7. An up-to-date Collison Center with state-of-the art equipment and technology.

8. New Vehicle Specials. This a a great way to save money.

9. Pre-Owned Specials. Another great way to save money.

10. Incentives for being a loyal customer.

11. Coupons. These come in handy with saving money too.

12. Computerized Paint Matching to make sure their customers get the best possible match.

13. Trained professionals with years of experience.

16. Fast Turn Around Time. This is a great characteristic to have.

17. 24-Hour Towing.

18. Rental Vehicles Available.

19. Toll-free number

20. Accept most major insurance companies.

There is what I consider a good car dealership located in York, PA. It’s called Giambalvo Mazda. You can do a search using the keywords: Mazda-mazda York or mazda5 pa or simply visit http://www.giambalvomazda.com to view experience and credentials of their car dealership.
